Mises-Zitat über Kultur und "Neuverteiler"

"Our whole civilization rests on the fact that men have always succeeded in beating off the attack of the re-distributors."

Das Zitat ist aus Kapitel 1.4: "Collective Ownership of the Means of Production"

Und auf Deutsch hier. (Als PDF-Datei; Zitat auf der 37. PDF-Seite.)

Mises was overly fond of these sweeping generalizations.

The whole purpose of the 'free market' is to redistribute goods and services in accordance with abstract Wertfrei rules. Which rules are chosen determines the patterns of redistribution -- who gets what, and why.

As an example of Mises' sweeping generalizations I give you this:

" It cannot be denied that Fascism and similar movements aiming at the establishment of dictatorships are full of the best intentions and that their intervention has, for the moment, saved European civilization. The merit that Fascism has thereby won for itself will live on eternally in history. But though its policy has brought salvation for the moment, it is not of the kind which could promise continued success. Fascism was an emergency makeshift. To view it as something more would be a fatal error. "
